Small Group Writing
Current writing classes:
Sentence Fundamentals
Sentence Fundamentals helps students build a strong foundation in writing by learning what makes a complete sentence and how to recognize sentence boundaries. With engaging practice in word order, capitalization, punctuation, and new vocabulary, students develop confidence in the structure of written language. Lessons are designed to support learning with strategies that reduce cognitive load, making writing feel both manageable and rewarding.
Writing at Length
Writing at Length builds the executive functioning and working memory skills students need to write effectively. This course focuses on planning and outlining single paragraphs, then transitioning into multi-paragraph outlines and full essays. Students will practice summarizing, drafting, revising, and refining their writing for different audiences, using group activities to strengthen skills in organization, tone, and word choice.
Writing classes meet once per week for 50 minutes each session.
